7 Ways to Become Productive Immediately

More often than not, a lot of us find ourselves going through the day bored out of our minds or refreshing the same 3 apps expecting something new and exciting to happen in the space of 20 seconds. If you find yourself in this position, it can be very tempting to remain there with your phone in one hand and the TV remote in the other (guilty!). Today, I'm going to share with you some productive tasks to accomplish when you seemingly have nothing to do.

CLEAN
The first productive thing to do when you're bored is to clean your space. If I'm in my room, then I start putting away clothes and I sort my books and shoes out. If I'm downstairs, I tidy the living room then the kitchen by washing, dusting, hoovering or folding what I need to. Before I know it the entire house is clean and all it took was putting my phone down! A very popular book about this topic is The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying by Marie Kondo, and it sets out how to clean and tidy up in the most productive and efficient way. If you want an easier read, then the manga version is also worth looking into!

TAKE A WALK
Getting out into nature and taking a walk is an excellent way to be productive. Just being out in nature can boost your mood and open your eyes to the world around you.

PODCAST
Listening to a podcast makes me feel like I've learned something important and beneficial within a short space of time so I try to listen to one everyday. There are thousands of podcasts out there and it can be overwhelming to find some at the beginning, but I'm currently enjoying The Mindful Kind and Yogaland

EXCERCISE
If you find yourself bored then exercising is a great way to get your body moving. With all these Youtube channels that are dedicated to providing fitness routines, it's so easy to workout from home if going to the gym or going for a run is out of the question. I love using Blogilates if I want to get my heart rate up, and I've been using the channel for years! I also love FitnessBlender because they do workouts that suit literally every fitness level. If I want something more chilled out, then any yoga video I can find is perfect for me.

READ
Another productive thing to do is to read a book. This can be anything, maybe a book you need to read for school or a book you've been meaning to read for fun. I recently just finished The Thing Around your Neck by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie in my bid to read 12 books this year. I kept it with me at all times and if I felt like vegging out, I would immediately pick it up and read!

MEAL PREP
You can also meal prep to save time on cooking and make it easier to find something to eat later on. There are so many meal prep videos on YouTube now, and there are different videos to give you inspiration if you're vegan, or gluten-free or a student (or a vegan gluten-free student!). Meal prepping also makes it easier to save on money and time during the week, so this is something to definitely start if you haven't already!

STUDY
Studying is a great way to be productive, especially if you're bored because it probably means you're procrastinating. Crack open those books and try to get some work done because you'll be glad you did it! I have a post written about the 6 Studying Essentials you'll need, so check it out if you need to! It can be hard to find motivation to study but what worked for me was remembering the bigger picture and the feeling I would get when I opened my results.

I hope you've found some inspiration for what to do when you literally have nothing to do! Getting productive is an excellent use of your time and if you have any favourite ways to get yourself motivated and productive, then definitely leave a comment down below!
